KG+SELECT 10th Anniversary Photo Book “KG+SELECT 10 YEARS,10 ARTISTS

This photo book looks back on the 10 years of the establishment of the KG+ Award and features the work of 10 award winners from the past 10 years.

KG+'s award category started in 2015 as “KG+ Award” and was renamed “KG+ SELECT Award” in 2019. One Award winner is selected by a panel of judges comprised of specialists. The Award winner will receive support from KYOTOGRAPHIE and will have the opportunity to hold an exhibition as one of the main programs of KYOTOGRAPHIE the following year as a step-up award.

In the past 10 years, award winners have taken this step up in their artistic careers and have gone on to become world-class artists. Their activities have garnered wide attention, including the publication of photo books, exhibitions at overseas photo festivals, and features in domestic and international media.

In this book, each year's award winners reweave and publish their photographic works, describing their thoughts on their artist activities from the time they received the awards to the present. The book also includes a long interview with the director of KYOTOGRAPHIE / KG+, and contributions from Mariko Takeuchi (writer and critic) and Pascal Boze (curator). It will also provide a bird's-eye view of the history and purpose of the awards and the history of photographers, and serve as a beacon to connect the past with the history.
