Hikaru Utada “HIKARU UTADA SCIENCE FICTION TOUR 2024 NINE STORIES

Named after a short story by J.D. Salinger, this project, “NINE STORIES,” captures the live music of Hikaru Utada, with nine photographers weaving stories from each of the nine cities where the festival was held.

The nine photographers, each with their own unique perspective and expression, are: Wahei Kimura, Chikashi Suzuki, Mayumi Hosokura, Rinko Kawauchi, Daido Moriyama, John Yuyi, Wing Shya, Takashi Homma, and Rika Noguchi.

The nine photographers will capture a variety of events and landscapes from their own perspectives, based on the nine key themes of “voyeurism,” “fragment,” “physicality,” “overflowing light,” “relationship,” “self-projection,” “kaleidoscope,” “simultaneity,” and “existence. Some of the photos were sequentially shown on Hikaru Utada's STAFF account on Instagram during her tour in 2024, attracting a great deal of attention.
