Photographer Hyogo Mugyuda. In collaboration with Kyoto Shimbun Printing, Sun-M Color designed the color management and color correction for the newspaper printing press. This made it possible to print newspapers with a wider color gamut than existing newspapers.

Technical Information Is Newspaper Photo Printing the Best Today?　What would happen if we again analyzed the color of newspaper printing and carefully pursued color this time? This was the challenge of this book. By printing and analyzing color charts, we quantified the limits of color in newspaper printing and produced ICC profiles using current technology. This allowed us to dramatically improve the accuracy of RGB to CMYK conversion from conventional methods. In addition to redesigning the color management workflow, we retouched each piece of work to suit its suitability for newsprint. By re-examining and refining color reproduction, the potential of the printing method is brought out. This is a book in which color management in the true sense of the word has been carried out.
