Yasuyuki Takaki "GRIDSCAPE"

Photographer Yasuyuki Takaki's work “GRIDSCAPE” is a photograph of cityscapes that he has been working on for many years.

This series, which has generated a huge response not only in Japan but also abroad each time it has been exhibited, has now become a collection of works.

“GRIDSCAPE”, which refers to the beauty of urban landscapes arranged in a grid pattern, is the culmination of Takaki's work taken from 2013 to 2023 as portrait photos of the city in Japan.

“The urban landscape, formed by its overwhelming mass, is overflowing with expressions that are endlessly interesting,” Takaki says. The scenery reflected in Takaki's eyes reveals its precision in the form of “GRIDSCAPE” before us. The tension and rhythm of the work can be said to be the expression of the city that can only be seen through Takaki's capture.
