Works
This is the first hardcover art book by Ryu Mieino, one of Kyoto's leading young graphic designers and designer at the alternative gallery VOU. The works picked up from his daily graphic design work are vividly colored by ultra-high color gamut CMYK. This is a book that only Sun-M Color can produce, even in small lots.
Technology This is an attempt to see if it is possible to create colors that approach or exceed RGB printing even with data in CMYK mode. The colors in this book were created by fabricating and misusing ICC profiles that do not exist in the reality of a wide color space. The use of breaking the rules of the ICC profile to convey the correct color and actively hacking into color creation was probably the same idea as the abstract profile that the International Color Consortium (ICC) also used to advocate, and it felt like a reprint of a technology that has died out.
