Works
Kenya Hara (b. 1958) is a designer whose wide-ranging activities include art direction for MUJI, corporate design creations, design promotions for the Olympics, Expo '70, and art festivals, and exhibitions abroad.
This book is the first collection of sketches by Hara, who begins all of his diverse work, including logo design, posters, exhibitions, and books, with sketches and drawings. By looking at Hara's activities through sketches from his early days to the present, this book tells the story of the roots of his thinking and the reality of the activity of design. Hara himself was also involved in the art direction of the book, embodying his designer's thinking from the specifications to the paper design. In addition, the book includes texts that explore his design philosophy and the roots of his expression.
