Misato Kurimune, Images

Contemporary artist. This edition of his lenticular work series “Images” depicts a fantastical world where reality and fiction intersect, combining a vast amount of data collected from the Internet with photographs taken from the artist's unique perspective. This collection of 30 limited edition copies contains a selection of the most fascinating works from the series, including high-resolution lenticular works created with UV ink and a certificate/booklet printed with ultra-high-resolution FM screen and high-intensity ink, signed by the artist.

Technical Information The lenticular card that serves as the artwork is produced by printing lenses with transparent ink from a UV inkjet printer. Since a general lens sheet is not used, the Lenticular effect can be applied only to the necessary areas. Also, the 3D effect of Lenticular was produced using AI that generates facial irregularities to produce 3D information. The bellows booklet uses Sun-M Color's proprietary technology, “Brilliant Excel Art (8K of Printing)®,” an ultra-high definition FM screen equivalent to 1000 lines, which reproduces the artwork in a wide color gamut along with details. This book challenges the limits of saturation in four-color printing by using wide gamut inks instead of regular inks.

Misato Kurimune Born 1988 in Hyogo Prefecture, Kurimune graduated from Kyoto Seika University in 2013 with a master's degree in printmaking from the Graduate School of Arts, Kyoto Seika University. She is a contemporary artist and part-time lecturer at Kyoto Seika University, Faculty of Art. He has consistently questioned the nature of beauty, existence, time, and life using mixed media techniques, in which he uses photographs he has taken as supports and drawings on top of them. In recent years, he has been creating works based on the concept of what is the essence of the act of “seeing” in our information-overloaded society via the Internet. https://www.instagram.com/m.kurimune/
